This week, Tobe Nwigwe and Platoon released the new single “Lil Fish, Big Pond” from Stephen Curry: Underrated, which premiered in select theaters and globally on Apple TV+ today, July 21.
“Lil Fish, Big Pond” is an apropos title as Underrated “documents Curry’s rise from an undersized college player at a small town Division I college to a four-time NBA champion, building one of the most dominant sports dynasties in the world.” Director Peter Nicks weaved intimate cinéma vérité, archival footage, and on camera interviews with Curry’s parents Dell and Sonya, his wife Ayesha, former Golden State Warriors teammate Kevin Durant, NBA Hall of Famer Reggie Miller, and more.
The original single is available to stream on all major digital platforms.
“Lil Fish, Big Pond” marks Tobe’s second original single to be featured in a highly anticipated summer film. He also holds the lone original song in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, “On My Soul” featuring Nas and Jacob Banks. The NAACP Image Award-winning rapper who has garnered the attention of Michelle Obama and Beyoncé will also make his silver screen debut in Rise of the Beasts as as Reek, best friend to lead character, Noah (Anthony Ramos).
