On the heels of headlining the 2026 ESSENCE Festival of Culture with Brandy at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans the previous night, Monica returned to the spotlight to accept the prestigious Luminary Award, during the ESSENCE Black Women in Music luncheon on July 4.
