While in Juneau, I embarked on TEMSCO’s signature 50-minute Pilot’s Choice excursion, which soars above the Tongass National Forest, snowcapped peaks, rushing waterfalls, and brilliant blue crevasses before making two glacier landings. This tour afforded my group the opportunity to walk across the ancient ice, take unforgettable photos, and experience the landscape from a perspective few travelers ever enjoy. Throughout the flight, the experienced pilots shared fascinating insights into glacier formation, regional geology, and the shifting forces shaping Southeast Alaska, which transformed the excursion into both a breathtaking adventure and an educational experience.
