EMERGE! Fashion Runway Show marked its 15th anniversary with a celebration of fashion, music, and culture on September 15, bringing New York Fashion Week to a star-studded close. Hosted by RaVal Davis and Nick Arrington, the milestone runway and awards show honored Chaka Khan, Eva Marcille, and Danessa Myricks, while continuing founder Dionne Williams’s mission of creating visibility and opportunity for emerging designers.
EMERGE! recognized Khan as 2026 Fashion Innovator. The entertainer later commanded the catwalk, turning her appearance into one of the evening’s standout moments. Marcille received the Style Award, while Myricks was presented with the Business of Beauty Award, honoring the creative entrepreneur’s influence on the beauty industry.
On the Runway
The anniversary show also welcomed hip-hop streetwear pioneer Karl Kani back to the EMERGE! runway for the first time in nearly a decade. The designer debuted his newest collection before an energized crowd, bringing the history and evolution of streetwear into a night centered on both legacy and what comes next.
Music became part of the runway experience when Grammy-nominated R&B singer October London stepped away from his front-row seat for a surprise performance. Following the debut presentation of the Saint London x FEDÚ collection with designer Ilbert J. Sanchez, London took the stage to sing his hit “Back to Your Place.”
While the evening celebrated established style notables, EMERGE! remained focused on designers building the future of fashion. Matthew J. Williams, LOU AYMÉ, and Makarassi Couture presented their work, obtaining a prominent moment with an NYFW platform, alongside the night’s honorees and industry veterans.
Honoring the Present, Discovering the Future
That balance between recognition and discovery has defined EMERGE! throughout its 15-year run. The showcase has developed into a space where rising fashion talent can present collections, expand industry visibility, and share the runway with influential figures across fashion, beauty, entertainment, and culture.
Williams closed the anniversary celebration with a Disaronno Originale liquer toast to the honorees and designers. The moment commemorated the figures who have shaped the culture, while making room for the designers poised to move it forward.
