
On May 19, Sony Pictures Entertainment screened Garfield The Movie at Regal Atlantic Station in Atlanta and Cinemark Missouri City in Houston in advance of the film’s exclusive release in theaters on Friday, May 24. Both screenings were hosted by popular Black veterinarians.
In Garfield The Movie, the world famous ginger cat and his pal Odie go from the comfort of their home to the mean streets when they embark on a caper with Garfield’s father Vic. Here’s the official synopsis, “Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt), the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.” Popular veterinarians and TV personalities Dr. Vernard Hodges and Dr. Terrence Ferguson, stars of National Geographic’s Critter Fixers, hosted the advance screening in Atlanta. While the advanced screening in Houston was hosted by notable veterinarian Dr. Diarra Blue known from Animal Planet’s The Vet Life.
