Last summer, Rocket Mortgage once again took center stage as the title sponsor for UPTOWN HOUSE in Martha’s Vineyard. This luxurious week-long celebration unfolded from Monday, August 14, to Friday, August 18, 2023, in the picturesque Oak Bluffs in Massachusetts at the second annual Rocket Mortgage UPTOWN HOUSE. Rocket Mortgage serves as a dynamic force in the mortgage industry, fostering community engagement and empowerment through its commitment to events and partnerships that celebrate and uplift diverse communities, all while championing financial literacy initiatives to educate and empower individuals on their journey towards economic well-being.
Following the previous year’s triumph, Rocket Mortgage returned committed to elevating the UPTOWN Vineyard experience. This exclusive event series, curated by UPTOWN magazine, offered a unique blend of engaging panels, seminars, and events, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect, engage, and revel in the best that the Rocket Mortgage UPTOWN HOUSE had to offer. Martha’s Vineyard, with its storied history and cultural significance, served as the perfect backdrop for Rocket Mortgage’s continued support.
“Martha’s Vineyard is a special place steeped in our history and culture,” expressed Leonard Burnett Jr., CEO of Uptown Ventures Group. “We were excited to return for our 11th year and build upon last year’s success with our returning partner, Rocket Mortgage.”

The week-long series of events delivered an unforgettable experience with Rocket Mortgage leading the charge to foster innovation, valuable connections, and engaging discussions. In addition to its title sponsorship, Rocket Mortgage hosted two panels centered around its commitment to generational wealth.

The first discussion was an amazing fireside chat and conversation with wealth strategist, Dr. Pamela Jolly. Moderated by Dr. Traci Alexander, the discussion centered around Dr. Jolly’s new book The NarrowRoad: A Guide to Legacy Wealth. Dr. Jolly provided an inspiring and insightful conversation around finding a way to tap into crucial insights of who you really are and the way of guaranteeing yourself a winning chance to reach your financial goals and full potential in a lifetime. She invited the audience on a journey with the trademarked The NarrowRoad System of self-discovery to reveal the path that leads to the wealth you desire and your ability to ensure your legacy continues.
The second panel, “Defining Your Legacy – Creating Generational Wealth and a Lasting Legacy: Impactful Ways to Leave Generational Wealth and a Positive Mark for Your family and Our Community,” was hosted by entrepreneur and author Cedric Nash. The panel provided an insightful discussion around defining one’s legacy and various ways to create generational wealth. Panelists included Nicole Sebree-Henry of Rocket Mortgage; Dawanna Williams, founder and managing principal of Dabar Development Partners; Cara Sabin, CEO of Shea Moisture and Beauty & Wellbeing, Unilever NA; and Dr. Jolly.

Rocket Mortgage, along with Comcast; Delta Air Lines; SheaMoisture; New England Sweet Water Farm & Distillery; Clean Design Home; Discover Boating; and Pepsi Dig In, powered this opulent affair.
Other highlight events included UPTOWN Vineyard opening night reception, Black Experience on Xfinity fireside chat with 300 Entertainment CEO and founder Kevin Liles, DE&I Panel Discussion: Harnessing the collective strengths of brands to promote diversity, and an outdoor movie screening of the John Singleton classic Baby Boy. In addition, Uptown After Dark provided VIP access to sponsors and their guests.
Guests were encouraged to dress to impress and immerse themselves in the island’s rich culture, as well as indulge in the delightful experiences and adventures that transported them to the heart of Martha’s Vineyard. The UPTOWN Vineyard events were an unparalleled glimpse into the very essence of this stunning paradise, all made possible by the continued support of Rocket Mortgage. See you again in summer 2024!
