Vacations that include visits to theme parks are always exhilarating! 2024 is slated to be one of the busiest with new adrenaline-inducing roller coasters and exciting attractions debuting throughout the US this year. Here’s the lineup:

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: Both Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland Park in California will debut this brand-new, immersive water flume attraction this year. Originating from The Princess and the Frog, this attraction picks up where the critically acclaimed Walt Disney Animation Studios animated feature film ended. You and your family will join Princess Tiana and friends for an adventure unlike any other!

Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point: This new attraction in Sandusky, Ohio will re-open this summer as the latest iteration of Cedar Point’s previous popular coaster, Top Thrill Dragster. Billed as “the world’s tallest and fastest, triple-launch strata coaster,” this unique launched roller coaster is destined to become even more popular than its original version with its longer track profile, a deliberate and jaw-dropping rollback up a tower after the first launch, and then reaching a top speed of 120 mph. There are numerous moments of weightlessness throughout the ride.

DreamWorks Land at Universal Studios Florida: While everyone waits with great expectation for Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe amusement park to open in 2025, the offerings of Universal Studios Florida’s DreamWorks Land can be enjoyed this year. This exciting new area in Orlando will be immersive and focused on popular DreamWorks Animation characters and their stories.

Mattel Adventure Park: The toy company behind popular brands such as Barbie and Hot Wheels is set to open Arizona’s first fully themed indoor/outdoor amusement park this year. This unique Glendale park will include a full-scale Barbie Beach House, a 4,500 square-foot Masters of the Universe-themed laser tag arena, two high adrenaline Hot Wheels-themed roller coasters, and much more!

The Flash: Vertical Velocity at Six Flags Great Adventure: Reaching speeds of nearly 60 mph, this “super boomerang” coaster will be the first-of-its-kind in North America and the second one in the world when it lands in New York City’s Tri-state area. You and your family will experience micro gravity, a 180-degree twisted drop, and a Zero-G rollback to a vertical tower while aboard this exciting attraction.

Penguin Trek at SeaWorld Orlando: You and your family will experience a mission in search for penguins aboard this thrilling coaster. Employing a variety of special effects elements, your journey will be fun and fulfilling, and you will find yourself in an actual penguin habitat towards the end of the attraction.

Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg: This attraction first debuted in 1978 and became quite the darling of roller coaster enthusiasts throughout the years. Once the attraction closed for renovations fall 2023, Busch Gardens Williamsburg began its period of extensive refurbishments on this popular attraction to include track enhancements, new storytelling elements, and effects.

Iron Menace at Dorney Park: The backstory of this fictionally-themed roller coaster comes as the result of the fate of a greedy steel baron named Hiram S. McTavish and his shady business ambitions. Throughout your journey aboard Iron Menace, you will experience the lore and the misbegotten remnants of this early-1900s rail transporter, as you experience speeds up to 64 mph, multiple inversions, a 95-degree drop, and more in Allentown, PA.

Cyborg: Cyber Revolution at Six Flags Fiesta Texas: If you and/or your family delight in “airtime” when riding attractions, San Antonio’s Cyborg: Cyber Revolution will not disappoint. While seated within four individual “arms,” you’ll rotate with fast and swinging circular motions, all while the “arms” appear to come close to colliding with each other.

Catapult Falls at SeaWorld San Antonio: Billed as the world’s first launched flume coaster that also includes the only vertical coaster lift in North America, this unique five-minute attraction includes a drop with a 53-degree angle. Please don’t expect to leave this attraction with any degree of dryness, as there are numerous opportunities to get drenched throughout while on-board!
