Sprite tapped three generations of rappers – Nas, Rakim, Latto, and Glorilla – to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop in a new advertising campaign that features a remix of the first Rap song to make the Billboard Top 40.

The four artists are featured in a collaborative remix of the Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight,” which has been renamed “Icon’s Delight” in the commercial. The MCs take the iconic opening lyrics of “Rapper’s Delight” and remix them with their own well-known lyrics and melodies to create a new song.

In addition, Sprite’s “Summer of Drops” will celebrate Hip Hop with exclusive access to content, merchandise, and events. Some prizes include Drake meet-and-greets and concert tickets, a Rolling Loud Lifetime Pass, signed merchandise from the artists featured in the campaign, and content from Latto and Rakim. (To be eligible for the drops you must enter the continuing sweepstakes using QR codes found on packages and online.)

Along with the exclusives, Sprite will continue its decade-long collaboration with Drake by sponsoring his summer tour, “It’s All A Blur,” and offering fun activities at the rapper’s concerts. The beverage brand is also launching a new limited-edition flavor to pay homage. Sprite Lymonade Legacy is a strawberry lemonade flavor that will be available throughout the summer.

The “Icon’s Delight” campaign continues Sprite’s relationship with Hip Hop that began in 1986 with its Kurtis Blow commercial.
