Is Southern California still the perfect location for celebrities to live and raise their families? Let’s take a look at the luxury real estate deals Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Drake recently made in the celebrity hot spot to decide.
Rihanna recently bought a penthouse, which was previously owned by Friend‘s star Matthew Perry, in The Century condominium building for $21 million, according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com. She was already a resident of the paparazzi-proof residence, but owned a smaller unit on a lower floor. Now, the mogul mom who is growing her family owns a four-bedroom, eight-bathroom, 9,290-square-foot condo with breathtaking panoramic views of Los Angeles, including the city, ocean, and mountains. There are four terraces for taking in the views, and a game room, home theater, and chef’s kitchen. And the living room boasts two fireplaces.
Go Inside: Rihanna’s Penthouse in The Century
Rihanna recently purchased a four-bedroom, 9,290-square-foot condo in The Century for $21 million.
Billionaire duo Beyoncé and Jay-Z casually snatched up the most expensive home in California’s history. Purchased at $200 million, the Malibu estate spans 30,000 square feet and took over 15 years to complete. Seller Bill Bell Jr. is an art collector and son of The Young and the Restless creator William J. Bell. Bell Jr. originally purchased the property in the late 1990s for $14.5 million. He then hired Japanese architect Tadao Ando to create a modernist glass and concrete structure. The home sits on almost eight acres and overlooks the Pacific Ocean and offers plenty of privacy with expansive lawns on each side of the house. Also, it has its own private beach, infinity pool, and many other water features. Since the home was listed privately, the exact number of bedrooms and bathrooms and its other amenities and finishes aren’t known. But this private luxury retreat will undoubtedly be perfect for relaxation after months of touring.
Drake intends to relinquish his last piece of real estate in the United States for $88 million. The Toronto-born rapper reportedly decided to put the property on the market after the home (main photo) was burglarized in January. He bought the house for $75 million from British rocker Robbie Williams just a year ago and wants to make about $13 million from the sale. The Tuscan-style home sits on 19.7 acres of land, nestled in the hills of Benedict Canyon. The property is 24,260 square feet with 10 bedrooms and 22 bathrooms. It’s surrounded by beautiful lawns and mature olive and oak trees. Like Rihanna’s new penthouse, this property also has city, ocean, and mountain views. Protected by a private gate and hidden at the end of a cul-de-sac, the home is very private.
Drake may be moving out of Southern California, but Rihanna’s and Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s recent acquisitions prove that the Los Angeles-area is still a luxury real estate dream and offers the privacy celebrity families require.
