Today, June 1, marks the start of Black Music Month and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with music, of course. Here are three music festivals to kick off Black Music Month in Atlanta, Philadelphia, and New York City this weekend. Upwards of 100,000 people will attend all three events centered around headliners Lauryn Hill, Usher, Cardi B, and Kaytranda.

On Friday, June 2, Milk + Cookies starts the tunes-filled weekend in the heart of Atlanta. DJ and producer Kaytranada, whose blends of R&B, Hip Hop, and electronic sounds radiate throughout the homes across the world, will headline Milk + Cookies in collaboration with RenderATL. The dessert-themed festival fuses curated music and delectable delights and promises to be a “sensory extravaganza.”

The three-day Roots Picnic begins on June 2 also. This event is curated and organized by The Roots in their hometown of Philadelphia. The picnic attracts music fans of all different ages. Headliners Lauryn Hill and Usher will create musical nostalgia, while performers like Lil Uzi Vert and GloRilla will bring new sounds to the stage.

The legendary Hot 97 Summer Jam Festival closes out the first weekend of Black Music Month. This year, the concert event moves to UBS Arena in Glendale, New York. The radio station provides a very interactive show with many of the most prominent artists in Hip Hop today. Cardi B is co-headlining Summer Jam with The Lox in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop. They will be joined by several other artists, including many from New York City.
