Love & Marriage: Detroit, the third iteration in the Carlos King-created reality TV franchise, will land on OWN in June.

Own Lmdt S1 Keyart Horizontal Premiere

OWN and Carlos King have proven to be a grown folks’ reality-TV match made in heaven because the super producer is bringing a third iteration of the popular Love & Marriage franchise to the network.

The Love & Marriage creator took it back to “Motor City,” his hometown, to introduce a new group of Black lovers and leaders making a difference in their communities and bringing the DRAAAAAAMAAAAA (we hope). Love & Marriage: Detroit, which is produced by Kingdom Reign Entertainment, is set to premiere on OWN in June. Executives from Discovery, which counts OWN as one of its networks, made the announcement today during its 2023 Upfront at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Here’s what to expect from Love & Marriage: Detroit, according to OWN:

“Detroit is on the rise and so are the people. It’s a city where Black culture is strong. This reemerging city is all about family, friendship, business, excellence and of course, love and marriage. Love & Marriage: Detroit will center on a group of African-American families with deep ties to Detroit who have decided to stay in the city and prove they can provide the best lives possible for their families in this community on a comeback.

“Russell and Kolby Harris, Brandon and Kristina Bowman Smith, and Anthony and Dr. LaToya Thompson will star in the series. In the premiere season, secrets, and past deeds haunt the couples as relationship cracks are exposed, and issues surrounding faith, resentment, and broken lines of communication are tackled head on.”

Get to Know the Couples of ‘Love & Marriage: Detroit’

Love & Marriage: Detroit is set to bow June 24 at 9 p.m. on OWN, following a new episode of Love & Marriage: Huntsville at 8 p.m. Hopefully, the rabid let’s-attack-people-on-Twitter-for-sharing-an-opposing-opinion fandom that exists for LAMH won’t spill over to the D. Either way, UPTOWN will be tuning in.
