In celebration of Black History Month and continuing its commitment to celebrate the Black community’s influence on culture, Amazon Fashion is releasing the Harlem Fashion Row x The Drop collection today at 11:45 a.m. But you have to be quick to order within the 30 hours of availability.
Harlem Fashion Row x The Drop was designed by Kimberly Goldson and Nichole Lynel, who are just two of the multicultural fashion designers Harlem Fashion Row (HFR) and founder/CEO Brandice Daniel have committed to support. Even though Black creatives and everyday Black folks, if we’re being honest, often set the trends on the street that design houses mine for inspiration, less than 1 percent of the designers department stores showcase are of color, according to HFR. Harlem Fashion Row x The Drop was inspired by the strength Black communities across the African Diaspora exhibit.
“Harlem Fashion Row is excited to celebrate Black History Month with Amazon Fashion’s The Drop and highlight this limited-edition collection designed by Kimberly Goldson and Nichole Lynel and modeled by Coco Jones,” says Daniel in a release. “We’re delighted to team up with Amazon Fashion and continue our mission in championing and providing real business opportunities to multicultural designers, bringing their joyful designs to an even wider audience, and remind us that #BlackIsRemarkable.”
Actress and singer Coco Jones stars in the campaign for the collection that looks ahead to spring with blooming florals, side slit maxis, and statement tailoring. The Harlem Fashion Row x The Drop will have quality and unique pieces that will seamlessly fit into any wardrobe. In addition, Amazon Fashion not only has its focus on uplifting Black creators, but also keeps the environment in mind by only producing The Drop garments once they’ve been ordered, so there’s little waste unlike traditional clothing production.
“I am honored to be launching a limited-edition collection with The Drop and Harlem Fashion Row in celebration of Black History Month,” says Project Runway alum Goldson in a release. “My assortment features bold, colorful designs, representing Black joy and resilience through purposeful, innovative designs. I created this collection with the intent for women to feel fearless, vivacious, and distinctive, yet still approachable.”
The offerings from HFR and The Drop will only be available to shop for about 30 hours starting at 11:45 AM ET on Monday, February 27 on Amazon Fashion’s The Drop website, and customers can sign-up for text alerts to be notified once the collection is live and available to shop.
The Drop’s assortments are known for selling out quickly and we’re sure Goldson’s and Lynel’s designs will be no different, so hit “add to cart” when you see something you like and then decide whether to complete the purchase. Be sure to spend some more time on the Amazon Fashion Storefront, which further details how Amazon is commemorating Black History Month and celebrating the Black community’s influence on culture by learning about the experiences of designers such as Sergio Hudson; Edvin Thompson, founder of Theophilio; and Venus Williams, seven-time Grand Slam singles champion and founder of EleVen, and shop their collections.
