Until the day that happens, look to Kickstarter for some seed capital to get things rolling. Launched specifically with creative projects in mind, the site builds upon the concept of crowd-funding to help aspiring entrepreneurs bring ambition to life.
"Projects" consist of a concept, rewards for investors, a funding goal, and a deadline. Incentives for backers--like first-looks, founder status, and couture garments--serve to encourage pledges with a little bit of instant gratification and a way to participate in the brand-building process. Fundraising lasts up to 90 days, at which point the project moves forward if the goals are met. If not, backers get their money refunded. It's all or nothing with Kickstarter.
Of course, if you are so inclined, be someone else's angel--check the site for previews of what could very well be the next big thing...and get in early.
