Cali-Cuisine, Japanese Grilling or Good Ol' Sliders

Your mouth is watering, but you can’t remember why.  Let us remind you with this short list of new eateries.

CHARLOTTE: Napa on Providence

Taking over from the shuttered 20-year favorite Providence Café is no easy feat, but Napa on Providence has bet on wine and a farm-to-table menu heavy with local fare to ease the growing pains. 110 Perrin Pl. 704.900.8535.

CHICAGO: Sumi Robata Bar & Charcoal Bar

Veggies, seafood and meat grilled on “sumi,” or white oak charcoal, fuel this cozy resto (pictured) from chef Gene Kato, of Japonais fame. Downstairs, Charcoal Bar features chief mixologist Matthew Lipsky whipping up masterful cocktails for those lucky enough to score a spot in one of the 11 seats. 702 N. Wells St. 312.988.7864.

NEW YORK: Slide

British-born Food Network Chopped and Iron Chef star Madison Cowan has sliders, shakes and cannoli on the menu at his latest eatery, Slide. 174 Bleecker St. 212.777.9077.
