Walk Like A Moroccan
Delano Marrakech is brand new and ochre hot.
If, like us, you’ve never considered a vacation in Marrakech, wake up and smell the orange groves.
Morgans Hotel Group is about to open a Delano in the most important city in Morocco's history. A vibrant, magical place, Marrakech has the largest Berber market in the country, bustling with acrobats, story-tellers, water sellers, dancers and musicians. But first you’ll have to convince yourself to leave the Delano, and that won’t be easy.
The hotel--designed by Jacques Garcia—is a baroque oasis featuring sumptuous draped silk, velvet fabrics and traditional Moroccan headboards painted by local artists. Luxuriate in crisp white linen bedding while gazing at spectacular 360° degree views of the Red City. The opulent interiors blend precious marbles with rare textiles; ceilings in the lobby are hand-carved wood, and did we mention the the Bon R restaurant from Michelin-starred executive chef Michel Rostang? Don’t skip the 20,000-sq.ft. Pearl spa (ask about the private 2-person “hammam”—it’s a game-changer.) Boutiques located on the ground level include Louis Vuitton, La Perla, and Missoni.
With rooms starting around $450 a night, this isn’t a bargain visit, but it might just be priceless.
Delano Marrakech is taking reservations now for its September 2012 opening.
