For the Ghoul in You

Several Halloween parties for a thriller night

Halloween is not all boos.

Sexy vampires, seductive ghosts, and stylish goblins make this annual romp more treat than trick. And some use the naughty occasion to scare up funds for great causes, while others just revel in the debauchery. Whichever one you’re up for, here are some suggestions for those on the prowl in the ATL, Chicago, Washington D.C. and Philly.

Atlanta:  Eyes Wide Shut

October 29

Big Boi is putting ghosts and goblins to work to raise funds for his Big Kidz Foundation, which supports youth in the arts. Held at the legendary Stankonia Studios (677 Antone St.), where he and partner-in-rhyme Andre 3000 crafted some of hip-hop’s greatest hits, and sponsored in part by Crown Royal, this adult party has an open bar, tasty buffet, and best costume prizes. So trick it out for the kids. $40 (advance), $50 (door). 8 p.m.

Chicago: Hallow’s Eve Initiation Ball

October 29

Scary fun is the main draw for this downtown Chicago bash at the Underground Loft Lounge (1200 W. 35th St.) presented by The Influence Group. DJ K-Luv is spinning well into the wee hours to chase all those bad spirits away. Free (advance).

Washington D.C.: Paranormal Activity Edition of Divine Saturdays

October 29

The Divine Group extends its Café Asia (1720 I Street NW) takeover that began in September with a spooky edition that relies on heightened senses. Opt for dinner earlier or come for open bar from 10pm to 11pm. Wear a comfortable costume because this party will go overtime.

Philadelphia: Dare To Be There

October 31

Kijafa Frink (lovely fiancee of our UPTOWN cover MVP Michael Vick) has partnered with Julie Dorenbos, wife of Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos, to spook Halloween night away at the Walnut Room (1709 Walnut St.). A costume is a must to get in this game, where the best in show scores two prized tickets to an Eagles game. $20. 10 p.m.
