Mobile BBQs
With summer right around the corner, it means BBQ season is here.
Burgers, hot dogs, and--if you're really doing it up--steaks.
There’s one simple but indispensable item you'll be needing for outdoor cooking exploits: a portable grill. With it, you can serve up robust, smoke-tinged eats wherever and whenever your heart desires--from an intimate picnic at the park to a late-night meal on the terrace with the city lights as a backdrop.
We’ve collected three deluxe mini-grills to help you kick the summer season off just right.
Selki-asema’s City Boy Picnic Grill ($229) is small and sleek. Measuring just under 9” tall and 7” wide, the City Boy Grill can be easily carried around. Made of stainless and powder coated steel, its pared down design features a single control knob and a square wooden handle.
The Fyrkat Grill by Bodum ($49) is the most traditional-looking of this collection, but its deep orange enamel finish provides character and playfulness. Sitting on chrome plated steel legs for stability, a well sized grill grate (13.4”) offers room for plenty of food. The Fyrkat features a vented top plate, lid slips, and a red silicone handle grip that stays cool while you grill. Dimensions: 15” diameter x 11.5” H.
In addition to being a portable cooktop, Eva Solo’s Table Grill ($360) is a year-round multi-tasker - serving as a salad bowl or an ice bucket when you separate the stoneware bowl from the stainless steel bowl. Given its compact size and wooden trivet, grilling atop a picnic or outdoor table doesn’t seem unreasonable. Dimensions: 12” diameter x 6.3” H.
Now's the time to call a few friends to the park and get your grill on.
