A Culinary Fight Night in Atlanta

It's a food fight all right - but like no other. Tagged as an event "Where Cooking and Competition Collide," the premise of this brainchild from Walt Henderson is simple: two local culinary teams go head to head in the kitchen preparing a three-course meal for a crowd of about 200 foodies using a list of ingredients provided on that day.

Ventannas is the site of the latest rumble kicking off Tuesday, April 26 from 6pm to 10pm with the Blue Team being led by Chef Frank Judkins from Just Chefs and Gordon Biersch Chef Christian Norton and the Red Team being led by Tantra Chef Terry Dwyer and Divan Chef Javier Viera. Providing much-needed assistance to each are aspiring chefs from Le Cordon Bleu.

Judging the "food fighters" on taste, presentation and creativity is an esteemed panel that includes Latina chef/food blogger Bren Herrera, Atlanta’s own Rashan Ali, celebrity stylist/boutique owner Adrene Ash, foodie, former American Idol finalist Anoop Desai and Atlanta Gspots’ Grace Lee, among others. Ultimat Vodka weighs in with the libations while $125 gets you in on the action. A boxing ring has even been added to heighten the drama. But the best part yet is there’s always a charitable component with this session benefiting Anton Clifford, a wheel chair-bound high school senior. Now this is a battle of the bulge worth giving in to.
