Instagram is rolling out some new features to allow for a more versatile and advanced photo editing experience. So now, instead of taking 15 different selfies, spending 10 minutes deciding which photo showcases your best angle, and then spending an additional 10 minutes figuring out which filter is best, you will have the opportunity to multiply that time by two. Don’t sit there and try to act like it’s just me!
The Instagram update adds nine new photo effects and allows you to control the intensity of existing filters. CEO Kevin Systrom said in an interview with TechCrunch, “There’s an appetite for more advanced tools to let people be more creative on top of their photos,” but says they’re not totally accessible. “I wish there were apps that are free and do this well but they’re either expensive, or $1.99 and not that great. Now instead of using multiple apps to get your photos looking the way you want, you can just come to Instagram.” Some of these features include brightness, contrast, sharpen, and adjust which allows you to crop and straighten your photos at the same time.
