Jennifer Hudson‘s new single “I Can’t Describe” may be the soundtrack to being honored with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday.
The singer was all smiles as she accepted the amazing honor, rocking this winter’s trend of pixie cut hairdos.
In a tear-filled speech Hudson joked that her mother would tell her to stop crying. “I knew I would get emotional and I’m sure my mom is in heaven like ‘Jenny stop crying’ but now’s the time to cry mama, it is,” she said.
Hudson was joined by fiancé David Otunga and son David, Jr, along with her mentor Clive Davis.
Industry Veteran Davis spoke about his hesitation signing the singer to a record contract until he saw her performance in 2006 film Dreamgirls, the musical which earned the Oscar award.
Hudson was reluctant to star in another movie musical until the time was right. She appears in Black Nativity this winter as a single mother who sends her troubled teen to stay with his grandparents during the holidays.
