Perri “Pebbles” Reid has stayed quiet about her portrayal in VH1’s original movie CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story that has sparked a number of memes and tweets comparing her to Joe Jackson. Now Pebbles is breaking her silence and speaking on the allegations that she is manipulative and responsible for TLC’s bankruptcy. Pebbles said in the statement:
The movie contains many false and defamatory statements and scenes about me. Please know that I have never cheated or mislead anyone. I will defend my reputation, accomplishments, and character. My attorney is in the process of demanding a retraction of the false and defamatory statements and scenes about me from VH1.
The full statement is on Pebble’s website and includes her future plans to release her side of the story. Previously, Pebbles talked briefly about her role in bringing TLC to the forefront on VH1’s “Behind The Music.”
But they say there are three sides to every story. We’ve heard from T-Boz and Chilli collectively and former member Crystal, but I guess we’ll have to wait for Pebbles’ perceived truth.
The remaining TLC members stand behind the movie that broke the record for most watched original cable movie in 2013 with 4.5 million viewers. The duo plan on following the release of the movie’s soundtrack 20 with a studio album in 2014.
