If there’s one thing a criminal needs, it’s a bit of intelligence to avoid getting caught.
But, for one New Jersey man a text sent to the wrong person has cost him to lose his freedom.
Nicholas Delear, Jr., 33, mistakenly sent a text message about a drug deal to a 10-year-old boy. The problem? The boy’s father is a lieutenant with the Township of Sparta, NJ police department.
Lieutenant Eric Danielson took over messaging with Delear in order to set up a sting operation. The two agreed to meet in a pizzeria, where Delear was arrested with more than four ounces of marijuana and $620 in cash.
