After closing an exclusive pod deal with Universal Cable Productions last summer, the Grammy winning singer has officially made his first sale to USA Network under his Get Lifted Film Co. banner.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Edge centers around “an idealistic Harvard Business School graduate named Jeff Cross who joins a progressive financial firm called Edgeton Global (aka The Edge), where he discovers the company’s dark secrets while becoming entangled in a high-stakes FBI investigation.” Legend says the drama, penned by writing partners Justin Herber and Adam Hoff, is just one of several projects to come.
“We are very excited about our first sale through our UCP deal and look forward to many more,” he said in a statement. Legend will serve as executive producer alongside his Get Lifted partners, Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius.
In October, the 34-year-old crooner sold an untitled comedy project to 20th Century Fox TV loosely based on his upbringing, but few details have been revealed on the direction of the show.
