A man shot three people before turning the gun on himself in a rural area northeast of Denver on Tuesday, reports USA Today. The moments before the apparent murder-suicide were allegedly picked up by a police dispatcher around 4 a.m. (6 a.m. ET).
“The dispatcher heard ‘No, no,no,’ and then gunshots,” said Sgt. Tim Schwartz with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office. “A male party then picks up the phone and says he’s going to kill himself. The dispatcher hears another gunshot.”
With the help of a SWAT team, officers quickly rushed to the scene where they discovered two men and two women dead. Deputies believe all four individuals were adults, but their exact ages are unknown at this time.
More information on the apparent murder-suicide will be released at a press briefing planned for later Tuesday.
