The booking comes on the heels of Mitt Romney’s dominant performance in the first presidential debate on Wednesday. Romney will co-host the morning program alongside Robert’s co-anchor George Stephanopoulos and correspondents Lara Spencer, Josh Elliott and Sam Champion on Oct. 10.
She joins previously announced pinch-hitters Stephen Colbert, Oprah Winfrey, the cast of Modern Family and Roberts’ ABC News colleagues Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric and Barbara Walters. Jessica Simpson co-hosted GMA on Sept. 11.
ABC News also is in discussions with First Lady Michelle Obama to co-host the program. And given President Obama’s widely panned performance at the debate, expect the very popular first lady to continue to be deployed in the run-up to the election.
