Rihanna might very well be the cover girl of our generation. Once again, she’s offered her stunning features to Harper’s Bazaar for its August issue (on newsstands July 17). In a white silk Calvin Klein Collection dress, she poses under a straight jet-black mane. As delicate as she may look on the new glossy, she opens up within the pages to discuss the parallels between her rebellious nature and love life.
She admits, “[I’m] rebellious through my music, through my fashion, tattoos, and my hair. I have been conservative in my love life… it’s pretty much nonexistent. If I come across someone who I find really cool, I’ll hang out. But the minute I find that we’re getting too close I just — I don’t let people in.”
Although she doesn’t bluntly state details about her past relationship to R&B crooner Chris Brown, she does explain why she’s avoiding love.
“When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love,” she says. “The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraid of feeling that again.”
Thought Rihanna isn’t risking her heart in the love game, she still very much takes a full-fledged leap when it comes to her wardrobe. And for a girl who has everything she wants at the moment, she still longs for one thing: a derriere.
“I miss my ass. It just went away! I need a butt. I have an idea of one, but it’s not living up to its full potential right now.”
