From music to television to film, Mariah Carey is making a huge comeback just one year after giving birth to Dem Babies.
According to Shadow and Act, the five-time Grammy Award winner has joined the cast of Lee Daniels‘ The Butler, along with actress/model Yaya Dacosta. It is unclear what roles the women will play.
The film’s newbies join an all-star roster that includes Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Robin Williams, Jane Fonda, David Oyelowo, Jesse Williams, John Cusack and more.
Music for The Butler will reportedly be composed by Quincy Jones.
The film is based on the real-life story of Eugene Allen who worked as a butler in the White House from 1952 to 1986, serving under eight presidents. His experience was documented in a 2008 Washington Post story entitled “A Butler Well Served by This Election.”
The film is currently in production.
