Debuting the same week as the premiere of Sparkle, The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles will unveil Whitney! Celebrating the Musical Legacy of Whitney Houston, an exhibition detailing the legendary singer’s life and career.
According to the official website, Whitney! will “provide an in-depth look at all aspects of Houton’s creative life. Bringing together diverse artifacts, rare photographs and footage, the exhibit features dozens of items from the private collection of the Houston family.”
The exhibit, which will run from August 15 through February 2013, will include stage costumes worn by Houston, albums and career scrapbooks from her early career, rare photographs both on and off stage, ticket stubs, fan memorabilia and more.
Artists and musicians who worked with or were influenced by Houston, her family and friends were also interviewed for the exhibit.
“This exhibit is a token of appreciation from our family for Whitney’s fans to enjoy and embrace,” Houston’s manager Pat Houston told the Los Angeles Times. “We hope they are elated as we are to have shared in such a remarkable life.”
