And her work has been recorded by Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, Raphael Saadiq, Musiq Soulchild and many more. We caught up with Angie to discuss her new album, Rich Girl, due out on Sept. 25; the first single, “Do What You Gotta Do”; and the state of R&B and Neo-Soul. But Angie also clued us in on her rapping past, which was how she was introduced to the music industry, and whether career moms can have it all. Keep reading for an intimate conversation with Angie Stone, in which you’ll definitely get to know the down-to-earth star and maybe receive some career advice you can apply to your own life.
