Failure: Women internalize a broken relationship as a personal failure. “I couldn’t make him happy.” “I wasn’t good enough.” “I didn’t keep my family together.” Women never assess what they are lacking in the relationship especially when it comes to commitment, loyalty, and respect. Our sense of self worth often walks out the door with him.
A friend of mine asked me after a major heartbreak in my life questions I’ve carried with me into all of my relationships. “What has he done to have the power to leave you broken up? What did he do to deserve your tears?” It’s time we set a higher bar for our worth and expectations.
