The Food Network continues onward with the eighth season of The Next Food Network Star. In it, top celebrity chefs Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis and Alton Brown, handpick newbie chefs to compete for the opportunity to be the next biggest cook on the network. The up-and-comers will confront the challenges of building a restaurant from the ground up with limited budget and resources, and possibly convince executives at The Food Network why they should stay.
One finalist has caught our eye.
Judson Todd Allen, 30, a self-taught and restaurant-trained chef who reigns from Chi-Town, is among the 15 contestants vying to have their own Food Network show. Judson, who recently lost over 115 pounds, focuses on creating healthy but flavorful dishes, coining himself the “Architect of Flavor” and doesn’t go anywhere without his creole spice blended from scratch.
