The ’90s. Oh, what a decade. How can you not think fondly of an era that birthed Cross Colours, FUBU and the practice of wearing denim overalls with one strap down? Remember the joy of spending afternoons with the colorful guests on Ricki Lake? Do you still have that sting of regret over wearing head to toe Tommy Hilfiger (including the backpack)? Recall your frustration over Brenda and Dylan never getting it together on 90210 or wishing you were living in a brownstone in Brooklyn and working in the city like the peeps on Living Single (the blueprint for Friends)? This decade also brought us The Fugees, TLC, The Notorious B.I.G.,Destiny’s Child, Mary J. Blige, Brandy & Monica (“The Boy Is Mine” RULED the summer of 1998), Wu-Tang Clan, Jay-Z, Mariah Carey (she released an album every year of ’90s–except ’92, ’96 & ’98), plus hip-hop’s great white hope: Eminem. And while there are plenty of superstars to remember, there are other one-hit wonders from the decade that you can’t quite recall. Let’s jump back through the ’90s window like “Bruh Man” on Martin and highlight some forgotten gems.
