Even though most of the world is experiencing the worst mortgage and home crisis in history, an Indian business man has built the first billion dollar residence. Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, the flagship company of Reliance Group, India’s biggest private sector enterprise, built the home with his wife, Nita Ambani, who spoke with Vanity Fair in the current issue about their bombastic home in Mumbai, India. “It’s a modern home with an Indian heart,” she told the lifestyle glossy.
The home is 400,000 square feet and features three helicopter pads, a parking garage for 160 cars, a 50-seat movie theater, swimming pool and balconies with outdoor gardens. A 600-member staff is required to run the 27-story residence.
