The ladies (term used loosely) were in Tahiti, and—surprise, surprise—nearly everybody on the trip dislikes someone else. (Rule #3 of creating a hit reality TV show: Make sure your cast members hate each other, then make them go on vacation together). Tami’s newest nemesis is Kesha Nichols, a country-twanged, mousey, uber-timid southern girl. Tami doesn’t like Kesha because, according to Tami, Kesha talks behind her back (if you’ve heard that phrase in real life recently, it’s probably because your teenage daughter said it about a friend of hers). Everyone had done a marginally adequate job of being cordial until Tami had a shot and began to show her complete ass in front of God and everyone else.
Tami lit into this girl. I mean tore into her, ultimately over nothing, in my opinion. Kesha, as she does when confronted, shut down and put her guard up, probably because it’s just her nature, but also, no doubt, because she knows that Tami is always looking for an excuse to throw a punch.
As I watched I found myself saying things to the screen that I tell my own nieces and nephews during their tantrums: “You can’t live like the rules don’t apply to you,” “You have to be responsible for your own actions,” “WTF is wrong with you? Like seriously, what is wrong with your brain?” Tami is severely lacking in couth, home training and a good weave, and I don’t know which is saddest. She is constantly acting like she JUST got out of prison after a 10-year bid and hasn’t adjusted to the ways of the outside world yet. She cannot handle situations like an adult.
Aside from always being ready to put her hands on somebody, this is most telling: Tami doesn’t think she should have to suffer the same consequences for her actions that everyone else does. Case in point: After getting her head bitten off and watching Tami get madder and madder, Kesha gets up and puts some space between her and Tami, leaving her purse, phone and sunglasses at the table. Tami picks them up, insisting that if Kesha wants them back, Kesha can come and ask for them … She wanted Kesha to come and ask her for her own personal property. What kind of mess?
