Perry tells Hollyscoop that he has big plans to work with the legendary singer/actress and is just waiting on her approval.
“I have the perfect role for her,” he said. “And I haven’t shot that movie yet because I’m waiting for her to say yes.”
Ross hasn’t done a film since 1999’s Double Platinum, alongside R&B crooner Brandy. She’s widely known for her role in Lady Sings The Blues (1972) which scored her a Golden Globe and Academy Award nomination.
So what’s Perry’s big role for Ms. Ross?
“It’s a jazz movie set in the 1940’s, and [Diana Ross] would play a jazz singer who runs a juke joint, and I just wish she would do it,” he said.
Perry is currently preparing for the release of his latest movie Good Deeds which opens Feb. 24 nationwide.
