It’s time to go to the mat for victims of abuse. Get your ticket now for the 18th Annual Knock Out Abuse Against Women Gala. Eight hundred lady powerbrokers from around the Beltway will gather at The Ritz-Carlton in Georgetown for an evening of entertainment with a purpose– the nonprofit has already raised more thn $6.5 million for local shelters that aid battered women and their children.
“When women leave abusive situations, it is often without money, personal possessions, or a place to live. Your help can make a new life possible for the,” says event chair Jaci Wilson Reid (left).
Join the fight on Nov. 10; the Saint-Tropez-themed event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and will feature dinner and both silent and live auctions. Maryland Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown will also be honored. He lost his sister to domestic violence, and has made it his mission to pass life-saving legislation. Individual tickets are $500.
