Herman Cain will remember Halloween 2011 for some time to come – it’s the day his skeletons came out of the closet with a great big “Boo yaa” – courtesy of Politico. It seems Mr. 999 was accused of sexually suggestive and inappropriate behavior by at least two female employees during his stint as head of the National Restaurant Association between 1996-1999.
Multiple sources confirm to Politico:
“The women complained of sexually suggestive behavior by Cain that made them angry and uncomfortable, the sources said, and they signed agreements with the restaurant group that gave them financial payouts to leave the association. The agreements also included language that bars the women from talking about their departures.”
Ohhh say it ain’t so, bro. Payouts? Non-disclosure agreements?
On Sunday – Cain, when approached by a reporter who inquired, “Have you ever been accused, sir, in your life of harassment by a woman?”
He [Cain] breathed audibly, glared at the reporter and stayed silent for several seconds. After the question was repeated three times, he responded by asking the reporter, “Have you ever been accused of sexual harassment?”
He has a 999 plan but answers this question with a question? In regular job interviews, doesn’t everyone have a scripted answer to questions of the “What are your weaknesses” variety? Ergo, a fella who wants to add POTUS to his resume should really have a really solid comeback to queries about each and every interaction that could make him look bad. (After all, this is the country where you better have a good explanation for your middle name to run for president.) Cain’s crisis management skills – not to mention common sense and moral compass – do not inspire confidence, but that’s just us.
Do you think it’s over for Cain?
