With the popularity of “8 Days a Week” on the net, BET announced Friday that web series will switch to primetime on Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. ET, following “106 & Park.”
The dramedy-style program follows the lives of six urban youths navigating the perks and pitfalls of living in the fast lane. The show features up-and-coming musicians and artists as they face the harsh realities of trying to make it big in Hollywood.
“We’re thrilled to bring our hit web series 8 Days a Week from BET.com to BET,” said Loretha Jones, President of Original Programming at BET Networks. “We think the younger members of our on air audience will connect with this storyline as it reflects the hopes and dreams of young people in the music and entertainment industry.”
The series stars Skye Townsend (web sensation and daughter of Robert Townsend), actor/rapper Justin “Irocc” Williams, along with cast of young, budding actors.
“8 Days a Week” is created and written by New York Times bestselling author Lyah Beth LeFlore, and is based on her critically acclaimed book series “The Come Up.” The series is directed and executive produced by Kenn Michael.
