For a woman with so much on her plate– a booming career, business, marriage, pregnancy– it’s hard to imagine how Beyonce can fit anything else into her busy schedule. But ever the go-getter, she says she has big plans for the future– including branching out to new music ventures.
“I want to create a boy band,” says the 30-year-old singer. Beyonce sat down to chat with the Associated Press Wednesday while promoting her new fragrance Pulse. Donning a Persian blue mini dress, with a matching blazer and barely there baby bump, she discussed that her biggest challenge with being so busy is keeping everything together.
“I am still working on balance and still growing. I am starting my company, my label. [...] I want to continue to produce and do documentaries and music videos. I eventually want to start directing for other artists. Once I know that I have my stuff together and I trust that, I can do it for other artists.”
She says that she wants to create an empire (à la Diddy and her husband, Jay-Z) where she can pass her knowledge of the industry down to new artists and help with their development.
Of course, she couldn’t leave without speaking on her latest creation: the baby. Beyonce says that she feels more empowered than ever because of the life she will bring into this world. And as for the challenge of mixing work and motherhood, she says she’s ready.
“I think that [motherhood] shouldn’t stop you. I think of course my life is going to change, and I definitely will make sacrifices, but you know, I think I will be able to bring, hopefully, my little rider with me.”
