“Q is for Quiet. May you find peace in stillness and calm the restless reverberation of your fears. Be quiet and find the beating of your heart. Be still and remember your divine mother. Lay and replenish. Restore the energy that you exude. Forget not that the answers reside in the quiet air. Only the wise take the time to listen. Quiet yourself…. Quiet your heart…. Quiet your emotions…. Quiet your soul. Be still as you once were in your earthly mother. Receive the energy of divine sustenance through the universal umbilical cord. Rest…. For action is most appreciated after the calm.” —Anita Kopacz, Finding Your Way
Be still.
A friend once told me that silence is the blank canvas upon which we paint the colors of life (Sabrina Jones, USM). How true that is. We sometimes go through life forgetting that our foundation is in stillness. Our foundation is in quiet. Our foundation is in silence. Before we were born, we spent nine months in silence. Any sound we heard was muted by the dark waters of our mother’s womb.
What would happen if we return to quietness? What golden secrets would be revealed to us? Many cultures have tapped into the importance of silence. In meditation, we are connected to the source. Many revelations come forth through the silence of your soul. If your mind is full of insecure, disruptive thoughts, those inspirations might get lost in the negative chatter.
Take the time to quiet your mind. We might think that we can’t spare a moment to rest and reflect, but leading a hectic lifestyle is precisely why we need to rejuvenate.
How will you nurture your soul today?
