With the unmistakable seasonal descent of pleasant temperatures into colder territory, the gentleman would be remiss to ignore the importance of proper winter skin care. Now, please suspend any current prejudice pertaining to a gentleman’s grooming regimen. Regular grooming is not an exclusive exercise for beauty-conscious ladies. Men require a level of facial maintenance too, especially in the winter. Brutal winter elements can give rise to dry & itchy skin and rob it of necessary moisture & nutrients. Rather than an exercise in emasculation, grooming in the winter is a procedure of conservation. So, what’s a gent to do? Lets begin…
Exfoliate
Skin cells regenerate daily, so dead skin cells can populate rapidly and leave your face undesirably dull, pores clogged, and vulnerable to blemishes & blackheads. The act of exfoliation will remove dead skin by gently abrading the skin’s superficial surface, thus improving your complexion. Rubbing in a light circular motion, St. Ives Apricot Scrub is an outstanding exfoliant to utilize. Zirh Aloe Facial Exfoliator is another great option for eliminating excess dead skin cells, dirt, and oil. Ensure that you select a nonabrasive exfoliating agent specifically formulated for the face (some treatments can be too harsh) and that you exfoliate no more than 2-3 times weekly.
