Posted by on Sep 2, 2010

As one of the most anticipated outdoor celebrations in the city, The African Festival of the Arts (September 3–6) serves up some of the best in authentic African cuisine and culture. Located on the Washington Park grounds near the DuSable Museum of African American History, this year’s fair welcomes more than 300 vendors and musicians from Ghana, Nigeria and the Ivory Coast.

Musical highlights include Angélique Kidjo, who performs on September 4, and legendary R&B singer and native Chicagoan Chaka Khan closes out the festivities.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate.
