An infrared camera installed in the front grill identifies objects up to 1,000 feet in front of the car—well beyond the scope of headlights—and displays them on the in-dash screen (helpful when dodging deer on your way to the Hamptons). And you need only glance at the screen occasionally since most of the 5 Series functions, including blind spot notification and speed, are projected onto the lower portion of the windshield, making it easier to keep your attention on the road.
