CLIQUE: Venus Williams Honored As Phenomenal Woman
Tennis phenom and entrepreneur Venus Williams was awarded the Phenomenal Woman of the Year by the YWCA Greater Los Angeles, Tues., July 13.
“[Williams] is the quintessential example of our event theme, ‘Saluting Women who Change the Game’,” said Faye Washington, CEO, YWCA Greater Los Angeles. “We are so proud of her accomplishments on and off the court and so grateful to her for embracing our Job Corps program and students.”
Williams is donating a portion of sale proceeds from her book, Come to Win, to the YWCA GLA Job Corps program and will be the guest speaker for the YWCA GLA Job Corps graduation ceremony at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Thursday, July 14.
