These hot wheels offer the latest in technology and design

2008 Suzuki Hayabusa
Affectionately known on the streets as the Busa, Suzuki’s Hayabusa ($12,000) continues to set the pace for pure, all-out speed. This 1340cc DOHC liquid–cooled monster features a new, redesigned instrument cluster, which houses an analog speedometer, tachometer, and fuel and water temperature gauges. For slicing through heavy traffic at high speeds, Suzuki has enhanced the Busa with an upgraded and aggressive aerodynamic flaring. With the Hayabusa’s cultlike following and the competition gnawing at its rear fender, the large liter sport bike world keeps heating up. —Leon L. Brittain

2008 Audi R8
Stepping into an Audi is always an intense experience. The rush of finely tuned German power, the excitement of high-speed turns via all-wheel drive, and the pleasure of five-star interior accommodations have kept Audi at the top of its game since 1969. Defined as the fastest Audi known to man, the R8 is blessed with a 420 horsepower V8 4.2-liter FSI engine, which sits mid-ship (an Audi first) allowing the sports car to spring from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds and top out at 187 miles per hour. Designed from the 2003 Audi Le Mans Quattro Concept car, the R8 is the culmination of Audi’s racing technologies and advanced design techniques. Inspired by Frank Lamberty’s aerodynamic blueprint, the elaborate and sultry styling of this two-seater ranks with some of the great Italian sports car players. Starting at $110,000. —Kimatni D.
